Done deal: Nottingham Forest seal signing of three-time top-flight title winner

By Harvey Byrne

Nottingham Forest have sealed the signing of Greek midfielder Andreas Bouchalakis, it was confirmed on Thursday.

The 24-year-old had spent a trial period at the famous club this summer and featured in friendly clashes against both Notts County and Mansfield where he was able to showcase his talents.

Now, the official Forest website and Twitter account has announced that the former Greece Under-21 international has signed on a three-year deal, leaving Euro giants Olympiacos.

Bouchalakis has had a colourful career, which has seen him play in the Champions League and Europa League for Olympiacos.

In total he competed in 39 matches for the Greek giants, scoring three goals after signing from Ergotelis in March 2013.

Those appearances saw him eligible to help Olympiacos lift three Superleague titles with the side finishing as champions of the Greek top-flight in each of 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Bouchalakis has now become Forest’s sixth summer signing, following each of Daryl Murphy, Barrie McKay, Liam Bossin, Jason Cummings and Tendayi Darikwa.

Football Insider verdict:

Bouchalakis joins Forest with plenty of experience behind him having played in each of the Champions League and Europa League and fans will be hoping he can bring that with him to their side. The Midlands giants are gunning for promotion under Mark Warburton this summer and their signings certainly show that they have ambitions of reaching the Premier League once again. Each of ottingham Forest’ signings so far have experience of playing at the highest level in their respective countries and Bouchalakis only adds to that.
