Arsenal transfer news: Declan Rice top target over Moises Caicedo

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are determined to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United in the summer of 2023 and could prioritise him over Moises Caicedo of Brighton and Hove Albion, according to The Daily Mail.

The report has claimed that Arsenal have made West Ham and England international midfielder Rice ‘their top summer target’.

The Gunners, who are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment, are prepared to make the 24-year-old their record signing and pay more than they did for winger Nicolas Pepe.

The report has added that Rice is valued at £80 million, claiming that he will push to leave West Ham at the end of the season.

Arsenal had two bids for Brighton midfielder Caicedo rejected by Brighton in the January transfer window, and although the North London club could go back for the Ecuador international midfielder at the end of the season, they are going to prioritise the signing of Rice, according to The Daily Mail.

West Ham’s Declan Rice would be amazing for Arsenal

In our view, West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice would be an amazing signing for Arsenal in the summer of 2023.

Rice is one of the best in his position in the Premier League and is also one of the first names on the England teamsheet.

Can you imagine Rice, described as “perfect” by former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy on talkSPORT in January 2023, alongside Thomas Partey in the middle of the park for the Hammers?

They would make it really tough for the opposition to play and control the midfield?

We think that even for £80 million, Rice would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal.

And let’s not forget that the Englishman is only 24 years of age and can also play as a defender.
