Henrikh Mkhitaryan appears to hint that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is coming to Arsenal in official video: ‘Yo, Pierre, you wanna come out here?’

  • Henrikh Mkhitaryan has left the Old Trafford outfit for Arsenal in a swap deal
  • Club are also in talks to sign Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
  • Mkhitaryan could be heard extending an invite to his old team-mate to join him

Arsenal announced the signing of one big name on Monday and may well have unwittingly revealed another in the process.

Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan moved to the Emirates in exchange for Alexis Sanchez and it seems his former Borussia Dortmund team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to follow suit.

In a video posted on the club's official YouTube account, Mkhitaryan can be seen briefly filming a video in front of a green screen.

And sharp-eared Gunners fans were quick to claim the 29-year-old was recording a clip for the arrival of Aubameyang.

Listening closely, Mkhitaryan can be heard saying ‘yo, Pierre, you wanna come out here?’ as he points to the camera, sending Arsenal fans on social media into a frenzy.

The club's move for Aubameyang was believed to have hit a stumbling block after Dortmund insisted they would not let the striker leave without having a replacement lined-up.

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis and head of recruitment Sven Mislintat have flown to Germany in an effort to complete their swoop for the 28-year-old striker.

The Gunners have already had a £43million offer for Aubameyang rejected, though Arsenal will return with a improved offer.

But Dortmund are driving a hard bargain. Firstly, they want a minimum of £53million for the striker - a fee that would break Arsenal’s transfer record.

And, perhaps more pertinently, the Bundesliga side want Aubameyang’s replacement before allowing their start striker to leave.

Arsenal remain confident of sealing a deal for the former St Etienne striker this month - but Dortmund’s stance is proving problematic.

Dortmund are keen for Arsenal to include Olivier Giroud in any deal and their hardline stance could be a means to ensure the Gunners include the France international as a makeweight in the transfer.

Aubameyang’s contract will eclipse close pal Mkhitaryan if his attempts to engineer a move to Arsenal are successful with the Gabonese striker set to earn in the region of £190,000-per-week at the Emirates.
