Burnley striker Andre Gray has been given extra time to respond to a Football Association charge relating to historical posts made on social media.
The 25-year-old originally had a deadline of 6pm on Wednesday but with transfer deadline day taking place the Clarets have gained an extension.
Gray now has until September 5 to answer the misconduct charge relating to homophobic tweets he sent in 2012 which were circulated on social media after he scored his first Premier League goal in the 2-0 win over Liverpool earlier this month.
The player immediately apologised but it did not prevent the FA bringing disciplinary action.
