Bayern Munich midfielder James Rodriguez divorces his wife, sister of Arsenal’s star goalkeeper David Ospina
The 26-year-old was married to Daniela Ospina for over six years, and the pair have a four-year old daughter together
JAMES RODRIGUEZ got off to the perfect summer after signing for Bayern Munich, but he has been left reeling after divorcing his estranged wife.
The 26-year-old has separated from Daniela Ospina - sister of Arsenal goalkeeper David, weeks after joining the Bundesliga champions on a two-year long loan deal from Real Madrid.
According to Colombian radio station Caracol, the pair have decided to call time on their six-year marriage due to becoming estranged from one another.
It is reported that their house in Medellin has already been sold, while Daniela is to keep their property in Miami.
The 24-year-old will also have custody of their four-year-old daughter Salome.
Suspicions were aroused that the two had broken up when Rodriguez was unveiled as a Bayern player on his own, without Daniela by his side.
She has since confirmed the news on Instagram, declaring they ended on good terms, with their sole focus on the well-being of their child.
In a picture she posted of three, she captioned it: "Daniela Ospina and James Rodriguez, parents of Salome Rodriguez Ospina, have confirmed their separation after six-and-a-half-years-of-marriage.
