Krzysztof Pi?tek's Dad Claims He's Pushing for Milan Exit With Pole Eyeing Premier League Move

Krzysztof Piątek's father Władysław has opened up on the striker's future with Milan, claiming he is looking to leave San Siro in the January transfer window.

The Poland international joined the Rossoneri from Genoa this time last year, switching for a fee of €35m. After a promising start to his Milan career, Piątek's form took a downward turn in the 2019/20 campaign, with the 24-year-old seeing his game time cut since Stefano Pioli's appointment in October.

It's thought the Italians are struggling to offload the forward, despite interest from several Premier League clubs. However, his dad has revealed Piątek has not given up hope of escaping San Siro, with a new challenge in England top of his agenda.

Speaking to Sportowe FaktyWładysław said: "After the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, it was decided in advance that Krzysztof would be a substitute. He would have to suddenly explode with form to return to the team.

"Krzysztof wants to define himself, what he wants, what his plans are. He certainly does not agree with the role of the substitute. He wants to play so he can be in shape for the Euros, so he must perform regularly. If he can't count on [sufficient game-time] in Milan, he is willing to change club. I think he is most interested in the English league.

"It seems to me that Krzysztof is already mentally focused on leaving. Of course, if nobody puts out the money, it may turn out that Krzysztof will not go anywhere, but for English clubs, €35m is not much."

Piątek senior also explained why the Serie A side rejected loan bids for his the forward's services, stating: "Apparently, there will be major staff changes. Leading players like Krzysztof, Suso, [Lucas] Paqueta and [Hakan] Calhanoglu were on the transfer list.

"The club wants money for them for new players. A lot of clubs ask about Krzysztof, there are loan offers, but Milan is not interested because they wants to sell my son for similar money. I think everyone is waiting for next week, then Krzysztof's future will be decided."
