The transfer that everyone has been talking about for the past ten days is finally over.
In an unexpected twist, it is Manchester United who are the ones to get Alexis Sanchez, not Manchester City as we had all expected.
United had to part with Henrikh Mkhitaryan to get him, and it appears Sanchez will be on a substantial financial deal for the next four-and-a-half-year's – but he is now their player. And it appears he is very excited at the prospect of lining up for his new side.
Sanchez was asked about the iconic number seven shirt he will now wear, given its history at Manchester United. He had the following to say in an interview with MUTV:
"When they told me that Cristiano, Cantona, David Beckham had all worn it, just thinking about that number seven sets you off dreaming in your head with ideas about lifting the Champions League trophy and winning the Premier League title," he said.
"So yes, I'm fulfilling a dream and I hope to give my very best and win many trophies at this club."
