Liverpool want to hijack city rivals Everton's permanent deal for Real Madrid wide man Royston Drenthe at the end of the season. Kenny Dalglish will make a 5.5m GBP move for the Dutchman next summer.

Everton currently have Drenthe on loan at Goodison Park where the former Feyenoord man has become an instant fan favorite.<br />

Real Madrid are ready to let Drenthe leave during the summer, but cash strapped Everton cannot afford to make a move permanent at this stage.<br />

Liverpool are ready to make the first offer for the left back, and it's understood that initial discussions are already under way.
