Fulham loan offer for Maxi Lopez rejected

Fulham loan offer for Maxi Lopez rejected

13 January 2012 - 08:53

Fulham's attempts to sign Maxi Lopez on loan for the season have been rejected by Catania. The Argentine striker has been in exceptional form for the Italian outfit, with Catania ruling out Martin Jol's hopes for a loan move until the end of the season.

  • The 27-year-old former Barcelona man is now being tracked by AC Milan, who appear to have failed in their attempts to bring Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez to the club.

"We did not accept Fulham's offer for Maxi Lopez because the English club would like to take him without spending a pound," Catania chief executive Pietro Lo Monaco revealed.

Martin Jol has reportedly been tracking Lopez for over two months, but is unable to match Catania's 14m GBP valuation.
