Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish will next week open his cheque book for the first time this transfer window, as he looks set to complete the signing of Sporting Lisbon youngster Joao Carlos Teixeira.

The 19-year-old is very highly rated in Portugal, and is out of contract in the summer and could leave Sporting on a free transfer.<br />

Instead of risk losing the player for free, they have already agreed a 700,000 GBP fee with the Reds for his signature.<br />

When asked about Teixeira's transfer, Liverpool manager Dalglish said:&nbsp;"There might be something about that."
