Sunderland close in on Kevin Davies deal

30 January 2012 - 05:39

Sunderland today moved a step closer to agreeing a fee with Bolton for the signing of veteran striker Kevin Davies. The burly forward will sign a six month contract at the Stadium of Light, where he is expected to fill in for injured Nicklas Bendtner.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • Bolton have so far rejected all approaches for Davies, but the striker is keen to continue playing Premier League football and has reportedly jumped at the opportunity of a move to the Black Cats.<br />

"I did make an enquiry and Owen would obviously want to try to keep him," O'Neill said. "I may well follow that up tomorrow (Monday) morning."
