Fulham have joined the race to sign highly rated Borussia Dortmund striker Lucas Barrios. Yesterday, Liverpool were linked with a move for the striker but it appears that their deal has fallen through as the Cottagers are now in pole position to secure Barrios' signing.
The Paraguayan international has fallen out of favour at the Westfalenstadion this year, as he failed to find the net in 12 games for BVB, but in the previous two seasons Barrios has been an important member of the first team squad with a goalscoring record to match.
Fulham are believed to have offered Dortmund a short term loan deal for the player, and as part of that deal they would also have first option to sign the player permanently at the end of the season.
