Preview: Fulham vs Derby

Preview: Fulham vs Derby

19 October 2007 - 23:24

Fulham who are on the longest current winless run in seven games are anxious to avoid the 100th defeat in their Premier League history against Derby. Derby, on the other hand, are terrible on the road.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Fulham are desperately unlucky to be down there at the bottom end of the table, when they have seemingly put in a great deal of effort to try and win games. Lawrie Sanchez has built a strong, organised team who try too hard to grind out results.

Collins John, who has a fever, will be on the sidelines, while Lee Cook, Brian McBride, Moritz Volz, Jimmy Bullard, Philippe Christanval, Simon Elliott and Ian Pearce will join the Dutchman.

For Derby, Giles Barnes could make his first start of the campaign following a foot injury and Darren Moore (knee) is available again.

Fulham (from): Niemi, Warner, Keller, Baird, Stefanovic, Bocanegra, Hughes, Davis, Smertin, Murphy, Seol, Davies, Bouazza, Healy, Dempsey, Konchesky, Kamara, Kuqi.

Derby (from): Bywater, Griffin, Moore, Malcolm, Teale, Davis, Camara, McEveley, Todd, Oakley, Mears, Pearson, Barnes, Fagan, Howard, Price, Earnshaw, Miller, Jones, Leacock, Lewis.

    Fulham 2-2 Derby

I know what you're thinking, how on earth could you call this one? How are Derby going to grab some points on the road? Well, with the luck Fulham are having, here's their best chance. The dangermen for Fulham in this one will be Hameur Bouazza and Seol Hi-Kyeon, whilst Giles Barnes' return will be good for Derby. Perhaps this could go for a win for Fulham, but a draw is a safer bet.

    Prediction: 2-2 Draw

    Goalscorer: Seol
