Liverpool star Lucas eyes return to action

25 March 2012 - 13:56

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva revealed that his recovery from a serious knee injury is back on track. The Brazilian defensive midfielder has been missing from action since hurting his knee against Chelsea in November.

  • Chelsea make first move to sign French centre-back
  • Kenny Dalglish has no plans to rush the midfielder back to action, and the player is now targeting a first team return next season.

Liverpool are so far struggling this year in the Premier League, and manager Kenny Dalglish is under huge pressure to turn around the Reds' staggering form.

"My rehab is going well and hopefully I will be fit for next season," he wrote on his Twitter page.  "It was a bad injury so I need to recover properly to be strong again."
