Denilson plans to swap Arsenal for Sao Paulo

28 March 2012 - 13:44

Defensive midfielder Denilson is reportedly planning to quit Arsenal for a permanent move to Sao Paulo. The player is currently on loan for the season to the Brazilian side and is hoping to stay at his temporary club.

  • Arsenal are reportedly demanding 4.5 million to release Denilson, a fraction more than the 3.6 million that they paid for him.

"Our conversation was that we have every interest in continuing as we are. We want to renew at the end of the contract and he has said he wants too," said Sao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes.

"He [Denilson] will speak with his representatives who will contact the English club. There is no rush because he is here until the middle of the year."
