Riveros and Angeleri to quit Sunderland

15 April 2012 - 07:34

Cristian Riveros and Marcos Angeleri are both expected to quit the Stadium of Light. The South American duo have failed to secure a regular first team starting berth, and manager Martin O'Neill has confirmed that both would probably be looking to leave in the summer.

 • Man Utd handed boost in signing West Ham star?
 • “Marcos has just come back [from injury] and he’s done a couple of days’ training with us,” said O’Neill.
“Over the last couple of weeks he has been out doing work with the physios on the training pitch, and in the last few days he has joined in training.
“But I heard talk while he was recuperating that he probably wanted to go back home again. I haven’t sat down and spoken to him yet – there was little point until he got fit.
“As for Riveros, he has been out on loan this season and I often wonder whether it was the club that wanted that.
“There is a meeting with his agent here in the near future and I’ll see what happens there.
“Sometimes players feel that maybe a change of environment is what they want, and if that’s the case then we will look at it in that manner.”
