Wigan manager Roberto Martinez won't turn his back on the club, even if they are relegated. Martinez has enjoyed much praise for the way he has managed the Latics this year, and a number of major clubs are reportedly interested in his services.
A 1-0 win in midweek over Manchester United has blown the Premier League title race wide open, whilst also giving Wigan a chance at top flight survival.
"I will only leave if the chairman decides to go because we have an agreement that I will stay here and finish the project here," Martinez said.
"I enjoy working with him and we have a great relationship based on respect.
"It is true that having a chairman like the one we have got brings stability to the club and that helps a manager to do what he needs to do and that is an advantage.
"The real advantage of our chairman is he has played the game and is hands-on in running the football club.
"He knows short-term targets and the long-term targets, and then it is quite clear he has all the information to make the right calls.
"He gives you stability and the belief to continue what you are doing. But in football you can't worry about what is around the corner.
"In football management you don't even have enough time in the day to do all the things you want to do, so what's the point in worrying about things I can't control?"
