Juventus wants Chelsea duo

21 April 2012 - 10:22

Serie A leaders Juventus are interested in signing Salomon Kalou and Raul Meireles to add depth to the their squad in the summer. Kalou is out-of-contract at the end of the season and is supposed to sign a pre-contract with the Italian giants soon.

  • Meireles has played a great role in the club's Champions League campaign scoring two goals in eight games including a thumping late goal against Benfica in Stamford Bridge. The match was watched by Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici.

The Portugese midfielder has had less impact in the Premier League having scored only one goal in 28 games. Kalou has a similar story in the Premier League having had only ten appearances in this season, however, the Ivory Coast winger scored the vital away goal against the Portugese club Benfica.

News from Italy suggests that AC Milan is also tracking Kalou. The Rossoneri are just a point below Juventus in the Italian Serie A. Juventus are keen to sign both the players and could guarantee them a Champions League spot. Chelsea are currently lagging behind Newcastle United in the Premier League table. They will qualify next season only if they managed to win the Champions League this season which is highly unlikely.
