Chelsea plan Marius Alexe summer swoop

22 April 2012 - 04:14

Chelsea have begun their preparations for a busy transfer window already, and have identified Romanian international winger Marius Alexe as a potential replacement for Florent Malouda who could quit Stamford Bridge.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Alexe is a popular player in Romania and plays for the national team under the leadership of Victor Piturca, and alongside Udinese winger Gabriel Torje, is considered one of the hottest talents in Romanian football at this time.

Alexe currently plays for Dinamo Bucharest, Romania's second most famous side, and just last week bagged an impressive brace in the league.

Alexe is comfortable playing on the left hand side of midfield, as an attacking winger or even in attack; and his pace and dribbling abilities have taken the Romanian league by storm.

Chelsea are believed to have made an offer for Alexe two years ago, but could not agree a fee with his club at the time. The Blues will make another attempt this summer, and would spend as much as 6 million Euros to secure his transfer.
