Tottenham Hostpur could be able to sign Bosman signing Lewis Holtby early, as German club Schalke admitted they would be willing to negotiate an early release.
Holtby is set to join Spurs in the summer once his contract at the Gelsenkirchen expires.
"If Tottenham ask for Holtby in the January window, we will talk to them about it," Schalke supremo Horst Heldt revealed. "Nothing has happened yet, but, from our point of view, we are prepared to speak to them.
"It would have to be done quickly, because we would have to find a replacement for him."
