Dembele slams Tottenham's desire

29 January 2013 - 07:34

Tottenham forward Moussa Dembele delivered a scathing assessment of Spurs' performance against Leeds United in the FA Cup last week, saying that the team lacked the motivation to ensure a victory over the Championship side.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • Spurs crashed out to Leeds thus ending their domestic cup hopes, and Belgian forward Dembele admitted the team were not up to their best on the day and questioned the motivation of the team.

"I think that is the most difficult thing in football to try and think like every day you are playing against Manchester United," Dembele said. "To motivate yourself to play good against Manchester United is very easy, you don't have to do anything.

"But against teams like this it is more difficult because you have something to lose and they have everything to win. That is the most difficult thing in football."
