Sunderland are set to make a bid for Palermo's highly rated striker Abel Hernandez. The 22-year-old is currently set to be sold by the Sicilian side as they look to balance the books for the new seasons after being relegated to Serie B.
Paolo Di Canio faces a challenge in the transfer market though, as Serie A sides Parma and Napoli are also reportedly considering a move for the Uruguayan striker.
There has been talk of a mega money offer coming from the Black Cats for Hernandez's signature, believed to be in the region of about 14 million Euros. Sunderland have been guaranteed a transfer budget of 20 million Euros to spend on players this transfer window.
