  • The Premier League duo of Arsenal and Everton could miss out on the signing of Toulouse star Etienne Capoue as Mega-rich Monaco look to hijack the deal.

The Gunners have been looking out at the 24-year-old since last summer whilst the Merseyside club have also shown some interest, however it looks for now that the defensive midfielder could be set for an extended stay in his native country.

Toulouse Manager Alain Casanova had been hopeful to sway away interest in the French international by saying:”I am going to be selfish and say I wish he could stay and remain with us.”

“If he does leave, we would wish him good luck after everything he has given us.”

However, his eight year stay with the club looks set to finish with his representative, Mino Raiola, requesting a £13 million deal to bring Capoue to the principality.

Monaco have come ahead of Ligue 1 champions PSG in the fight for his signature as he is reportedly attracted to the project owner Dmitry Rybolovlev is hoping to put into action next season.

Till now , Capoue has made 38 appearances for Toulouse last season, scoring seven goals.
