Preview: Bolton vs Villa

Preview: Bolton vs Villa

28 October 2007 - 13:23

Aston Villa travel to Bolton for the 1:30 Sunday game at The Reebok Stadium. It's Gary Megson's first game in charge, and a difficult one it is. Villa are still looking for an away win, while Bolton haven't won in six.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • Christian Wilhelmsson, Jlloyd Samuel and Ricardo Vaz Te are all missing for Bolton, whilst Nigel Reo-Coker and goalkeeper Scott Carson are both suspended for this game.

Stiliyan Petrov is liking to make a return to the starting line up in place of Reo-Coker, while Sorensen and Stuart Taylor battle for the goalkeeper spot.

    Megson taking things slowly

"I have met the players. There is a quiet determination to get us out of this position.

"Maybe we have not been getting the results we should have with the quality that is available here.

"I do not want to make massive changes, certainly not straight away."

    Bolton 1-0 Aston Villa

Gary Megson will be looking forward to settling in quickly, and there is no doubt of the importance of three points for Bolton in this one. Ivan Campo makes his 150th Bolton appearance, and he could be the key man to keep Villa out. Bolton must stop Agbonlahor if they are to get three points.

    Prediction: 1-0 to Bolton

    Goalscorer: Diouf
