Ambrosini To Fiorentina?

24 June 2013 - 15:55

Massimo Ambrosini’s agent Moreno Roggi has revealed that the player is eying a move to Fiorentina this summer. He said that the former AC Milan midfielder is anticipating an offer from the Artemio Franchi’s side.

  • Arsenal leading the race to sign 22yo Dutch striker
  • Man Utd & Arsenal enter race to sign Italian defender

  • Ambrosini is available on a free now after having been released by Rossoneri this summer, following his 18 years at the club. He has been linked with a move to MLS and Premier League outfit West Ham United as well.

However, the Italian looks to extend his career in Serie A and expects a transfer to Viola. His agent says:

“We are awaiting Fiorentina’s decision on whether they think Massimo can still add something to the team.”

“His personal preference is to make the move to Fiorentina(rather than abroad). It’s now up to them to decide if they have room for him.”

“There have not been any developments, so we will have to be patient and see what happens”

However, it has been claimed by the Gazzetta dello Sport that this deal could be finalized by the end of this week. Amidst interest from clubs outside Italy, Viola have not failed to admire the 36-year-old. It is therefore quite possible that this transfer could be wrapped up in the next few days.

Ambrosini joined Milan in 1995 and played 20  League games for the Diavolo in 2012-13. Fiorentina, if the transfer is successful, would be his fourth club after Cesena, Vicenza and Milan.
