Sunderland to sell £8m Sessegnon

Sunderland to sell £8m Sessegnon

25 June 2013 - 00:47

Stephan Sessegnon has been told that he is free to leave Sunderland this summer, after Paolo Di Canio told the talented forward that any club matching his £8m valuation will be allowed to discuss personal terms with the striker.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Di Canio is ready to completely revamp his entire squad this summer as he looks to rebuild from the top to the bottom; the likes of Simon Mignolet are already heading for the Stadium of Light's exit door and now Sessegnon looks set to follow.

Sunderland chairman Ellis Short has instructed Di Canio to go ahead and do whatever he deems necessary to ensure the Black Cats are a dominant force in the Premier League next season.

Sessegnon is a big fan favourite at the club, but with the interest of French side Monaco and Lyon it looks unlikely that the player will stay.
