Stoke City are hopeful that they can agree a deal to sign Dutch international defender Erik Pieters. The PSV Eindhoven left back has played 17 games for his country and continues to be a consistent performer for both club and country.
The 24-year-old has been monitored by Newcastle for over two years, but a deal has so far failed to complete. Stoke City are now the latest team to express an interest in the Dutchman.
PSV Eindhoven are ready to sanction the sale of the defender as they look to find defensive replacements for the new year.
