Ajax midfielder Thulani Serero is a target for Roberto Martinez's Everton. Having been recommended to the club by fellow South African international Steven Pienaar, the club sent scouts to watch the player for Ajax's reserve side last year.
Serero is currently on the fringes of Ajax's first team, but the 23-year-old attacking midfielder is desperate to play in England in the future. The highly rated international has also been tracked by Swansea City in recent years, but Everton are the side most interested in the player.
Having moved to Ajax back in 2011, there were hopes that Serero would be a regular starter for the Dutch side, but the player has been resigned to the substitutes bench more often than on the pitch.
Ajax have quoted Everton a figure of around 1.5 million Euros for the South African, who played in 9 Eredivisie games last year, scoring 3 goals.
