Monaco Near Toulalan Signing

03 July 2013 - 16:03

Jeremy Toulalan’s summer move to Monaco from Malaga has reportedly been confirmed. Malaga director general Vicente Casado has been reported to have travelled to the principality to discuss the deal with the French giants.

  • According to reports in both French and Spanish media, the sporting director, Casado, has come to terms with Monaco. He has agreed to sell the highly rated midfielder for €5 million in cash plus €3 million in performance-based bonuses, which would make the deal worth €8 million total.

It was suggested earlier that Toulalan in his meeting with Casado and Vice President, Moayad Shatat, yesterday made it very clear that he did not want to accept their final offer citing personal reasons.

There were other clubs interested in the French international. Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and Rennes were keen on signing the midfielder but none of the mentioned clubs were willing to spend more than €3 million on him. So apparently it was always the money-rich French powerhouse Monaco who were ever in the race for his sign.

It has also been reported that no official work has been carried out by either club but a deal confirming the Frenchman’s move might soon be agreed on paper after his medical is done in the near future.
