Ambrosini Joins Fiorentina On A One Year Deal

04 July 2013 - 21:34

Massimo Ambrosini has completed his move to Fiorentina on a 12-month deal. The midfielder left his former club AC Milan, following the expiry of the contract but has apparently decided to continue his career in the Serie A.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The veteran player will offer his services to Fiorentina until the end of the forthcoming season. Premier League club West Ham were reportedly keen on having him onboard but the 35-year-old chose Fiorentina.

Fiorentina confirmed the signing of Ambrosini on their website where they announced a one year deal with him.

"Fiorentina wishes to communicate that the club have purchased outright the rights to the player Massimo Ambrosini.”

"The footballer has signed a contract that will bind him to the club until 30 June 2014."

The statement on the website further stresses on the immense experience Ambrosini has earned in his long “distinguished” career.

The 35-year-old has been at San Siro since 1995 and has won Champions League two times.
