The Florence club have confirmed the acquisition of Joseph Ilicic from Palermo for an undisclosed fee, which is estimated to be in the region of €9 million, in addition to add-ons.
Palermo have been relegated to Serie B last season, following which the Slovenian midfielder has joined Fiorentina. The length of the contract is yet to be disclosed.<br />
The Viola chief Andrea Della Valle has also revealed that the club’s summer spending spree is not yet over as they continue to target other players. Valle was speaking to fans at a pre-season training camp, when he was quoted saying:<br />
"Ilicic will arrive and the surprises aren’t over yet”<br />
"We will reinforce the midfield and make this team even stronger."<br />
The 25-year-old has netted 11 goals for his Serie A club in 32 appearances last season.
