Boca Juniors Announce The Signing Of Argentine Fernando Gago

30 July 2013 - 16:15

Argentine international Fernando Gago has been signed by Boca Juniors on a three-year contract. Boca Juniors is the club where the midfielder started his career.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The 27-year-old was quoted saying:

“It's a nice feeling coming back to the club where I grew up as a person and now I want to enjoy this stage at Boca," he is quoted as saying by AS.

"Boca always want to be [title] candidates, that's the goal. We have the obligation to fight for the title."

Gago made a move to Valencia last summer after falling out of favour at Real Madrid but failed to secure a first-team-spot. He left La Bombonera in 2007 for the Liga giants but after a loan spell at Roma, he switched permanently to Mestalla.

Now he is happy to return to the club where he started his footballing career. He, however, made 13 Liga appearances for Valencia.
