Jay Spearing to swap Liverpool for Bolton

Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing, who has been told he is free to leave the club, is heading for talks with Bolton. The club have reportedly made a permanent offer for Spearing, who spent last year on loan at the Reebok Stadium.

Spearing proved to be an important member of Bolton's first team last year whilst on loan and Dougie Freedman, Bolton's manager, even called him the club's player of the year.<br />

Freedman is eager to sign the player on a permanent basis.<br />

"Jay is a fantastic player, our player of the season, and available," said Freedman.&nbsp;"We'll try our very best to make it happen.
