Nice midfielder Nanpalys Mendy has insisted that there have been no talks of a deal that would take him to Manchester United in the future. The talented star joined Ligue 1 outfit Nice from rivals AS Monaco this summer.<br /><br />The 21-year-old who plays as a defensive midfielder had one year remaining on his contract with newly-promoted AS Monaco, but he backed himself to make a switch to Nice in spite of interest from the Premier League champions Manchester United.
He told L'Equipe: "I chose Nice and I think it was the right decision.<br />
"I preferred Nice because the coach talked to me and I liked it. I didn't hesitate."<br /><br />Mendy, when asked about a move to Manchester United was quick to dismiss the speculation. <br /><br />"No, there is nothing, nothing at all," he said.<br /><br />"I aim to join the Under-21 national team. I need to have a series of good performances for the club."
