Swedish youngster Ishak seals Parma switch

10 August 2013 - 18:33

Sweden U 21 international Mikael Ishak expressed delight after completing his move to Serie A side Parma on a four year long deal.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The 20 year old has been prolific for his country's U 21 side and is considered to have the potential to develop into a fine striker.

Parma have been keeping tabs on the FC Cologne youngster for a long time and have secured a long term deal after deciding against taking him on loan.

Ishak is however, not under any illusion and is ready to go out on loan this season so as to get some first team football.

Ishak told Fotbolltransfers.com: "It feels terrific.

"I had other options, but finally I decided to go there and see what they had to tell me.

"I had a good talk with sporting director Pietro Leonardi. They have been keeping tabs on me and have got a plan for me.

"As Parma have signed me for four years, they have got confidence in me. I am realistic, I know that players like (Antonio) Cassano and Amauri will play before me.

"Therefore, I have suggested that I might join another club on loan to get playing time. I am open to that."
