Sunderland close in on the signing of Ondrej Celustka on a season-long loan

According to Sky Sports, Sunderland are edging closer to the signing of Trabzonspor defender Ondrej Celustka on a season-long loan deal.

  • Celustka has been placed as the number one target by Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio after the Black Cats failed to seal a deal for Gino Peruzzi as he failed a medical.



    Celustka joined Turkish outfit Trabzonspor from Slavia Prague in 2011. The 24-year-old who is capable of playing at right-back or at the centre of defence is expected to seal a switch to the Stadium of Light in the a couple of days time.



    He also asserted that he refused a move to Trabzonspor's rivals Antalyaspor inorder to acquire a chance to play in Europe's elite football league. 



    Celustka told to Daily Star Sunday : "Antalyaspor wanted me, but my goal is to play in England."
