The Baggies experienced midfielder Zoltan Gera is reportedly on the verge of signing a new long-term contract at the Hawthorns.
The 34-year-old whose contract expired this summer is working his way back to full fitness following a cruciate knee injury suffered in January. Though Gera was declared as a free agent by the Baggies last month, the midfielder was asked to play in the club's pre-season tour, where he reportedly impressed the manager Steve Clarke.
According to Sky Sports, the club officials are preparing to offer the veteran midfielder a new one-year deal to keep him out of the grasp of other clubs.
Gera is reportedly monitored by a number of Championship clubs.
