Sunderland target Gino Peruzzi joins Catania

Highly rated full back Gino Peruzzi has disappointed Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio and has instead opted to make a move to Italian side Catania. The player has signed a four year contract.

Peruzzi has been linked with a move to the Black Cats for over 2 months but failed to agree terms on a contract as the player demanded a large signing on fee. Catania have now completed a deal for the defender who arrives from Velez Sarsfield.<br />

Catania have paid 3.5m Euros for the defender.&nbsp;
