'Marouane Fellaini's buy out clause has expired' says Roberto Martinez

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has assured that the buyout clause in their star midfielder Marouane Fellaini's contract has expired.

  • The Belgian International had a release clause worth &pound;22m at the Merseyside club, which spread a speculation that the Premier League champions Manchester United would try to trigger the clause to lure the midfielder to Old Trafford. &nbsp;<br /><br />Martinez confirmed today that the clause had expired on the 31st of July.<br /><br />He told BBC Sport :"It's well documented that Marouane's contract has a clause.<br />

    "That clause expired on 31 July and as you can imagine for a manager that gives you a real sense of celebration when that day arrives.<br /><br />"We are in a position where I don't mind having other clubs look at my players because that means they are doing good things."
