The Baggies manager Steve Clarke has confirmed that he is uncertain whether the club are close to signing Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair. Clarke expressed last weekend that he was willing to acquire the services of the 24-year-old.
He told reporters: "I know that there was initial contact between the clubs and I know that there has been continued contact between the clubs.
"Beyond that, I don't know if we are close to a deal or if we are far away from a deal.
"There are still talks ongoing at this moment in time."
Sinclair has made just 14 appearances for Manchester City since his move from Swansea City last summer.
