Newcastle on alert as Innocent Emeghara requests transfer

Swiss international forward, Innocent Emeghara, has asked his club FC Lorient for a transfer. The Nigerian born 5 foot 7 forward has attracted interest from Celtic already this transfer window but Newcastle's search for a striker has seen them express an interest in Emeghara.

The forward recently told journalists that he is desperate to move to a bigger team and news of Celtic interest has left the striker uncertain about his future at Lorient. Newcastle's enquiry for the player will be responded to with a valuation of approximately 5 million Euros.<br />

Livorno were believed to be in pole position to secure the player's signature, but late interest from Newcastle is sure to unsettle the player, who has two years remaining on his contract with Lorient.
