Former Baggies defender Moore hopeful of a good season

Former Baggies defender Moore hopeful of a good season

04 September 2013 - 18:39

Former West Bromwich defender Darren Moore has lavished praise on the Baggies manager Steve Clarke for the transfer signings this summer and remains hopeful of a good season for the club.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • West Brom have been extremely active this summer and have brought in nine new players to the Hawthorns including deals for Morgan Amalfitano, Stephane Sessegnon and Victor Anichebe on deadline day.

"I think it's great business," Moore told Sky Sports News Radio. "The club wants to keep moving forward after last season and I think the players that have come in will enhance the squad.

"It's a great squad of players anyway. I had the joy of watching them last season and they're a great bunch. Nicolas (Anelka) coming in, Scott (Sinclair) coming in and Sessegnon coming in will add the quality and flair that's needed.

He added: "I really see them as quality signings. With West Brom it's never a knee-jerk reaction, it's always structured and planned. The way the club is run, those players would have been planned to come in over the summer.

"Hopefully they've got the men they wanted and now they can progress."
