Paolo Di Canio- Steven Fletcher could be out injured for some time

22 September 2013 - 03:48

Sunderland manager Paolo di Canio has insisted that Steven Fletcher could be out injured for some time, following a shoulder injury during the Black Cats 3-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Di Canio suggested that the loss of Fletcher in the game was the main reason to the club's defeat.

Di Canio told 5Live : "Fletcher didn't score and he got injured today.

"His shoulder was very bad and yes [he could be out for some serious time], his shoulder went out. We lost him in a crucial moment of the game.

"He came back early from an ankle injury and he did very well the way he came back but now he'll probably have to miss a few games."

Sunderland are currently bottom of the Premier League as they remain the only side to have not registered a win this season.
