Kevin Ball eyes permanent Sunderland position

25 September 2013 - 06:50

Temporary Sunderland manager Kevin Ball has asked to be considered as the next permanent manager of the Black Cats. Ball has taken charge of the team on an interim basis since the firing of Paolo Di Canio this week.

  • Chelsea ready to pay €75m for Eduardo Camavinga
  • Chelsea planning move for Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli

  • Ball guided Sunderland to a 2-0 win over Peterborough in the Capital One Cup yesterday evening and confirmed that he would be applying for the vacant role on a permanent basis.

"Anybody who is anybody would like to be considered for it. In the sense of what I have done as a coach or a player and not only that, my qualifications I have gone out and got as a coach, I would like to be considered," said Ball.

"But ultimately, that's the club's decision and I would go with that, whether it was me or someone else, they would have my full support."
