Koller rules out England

Koller rules out England

12 November 2007 - 13:30

Jan Koller has all but ruled out a switch to England and the Premiership. The giant former Anderlecht and Sparta Prague striker almost moved to Fulham in 2001, but feels that his opportunity to play in the Premiership has now passed.

  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • "My Monaco contract expires in the summer and I don't know much now what is going to happen then," he admitted. "So far the club have not expressed their visions so I am waiting and perhaps I will have to look somewhere else."

"I would probably rule out England, that chance gone now," the Czech Republic's record international goalscorer continued.

"If I don't continue at Monaco, then I could possibly return to Germany. I would like to play one more season abroad, after which I will be 36.

"Whether I continue after that will depend a lot on my health and motivation," he added, although feels he could carry on for a few years longer.

"As a young player I did not over-train which is a big advantage compared to the boys who must undergo regular training drill from their 6 years of age," he mused.

"I am not that burnt-out so I could play on."
