09 October 2013 - 03:57

According to reports from Malaysia, 17-year-old midfielder Muhammad Ariff Farhan Mohd Isa is set for a trial spell in England with Premier League giants Chelsea. The Blues' scouting network has been monitoring the youngster in action and will fly in the under-23 international for a three week spell.

  • Malaysia, which is not a country famed for its footballing exports, seems to have finally produced an exceptional young talent and Mohd Ariff Farhan is already being praised as the future of Malaysian football at the young age of 17. Currently playing for Harimau Muda A in the S League, the player is already the youngster player ever to have appeared in the S. League. Farhan has played twice for the under-21 side as well as the under-23 side, and is tipped for full international honours in the future.

Chelsea are the first team to have offered the youngster a trial, but QPR and Cardiff City with their strong Malay connections are expected to be monitoring the youngster's situation closely should Chelsea decide against a permanent deal for the 5 foot 6 midfielder.

With just under 30 professional games under his belt, Chelsea are hoping to assess the player in a trial period and a deal could be agreed as soon as next summer.
