Liverpool's Aly Cissokho keen on making a permanent switch

18 November 2013 - 11:15

Liverpool's on-loan full-back Aly Cissokho has revealed of his intentions of making his loan move to the Merseyside club a permanent one at the end of the season.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • The French full-back joined the Reds during the summer from La Liga outfit Valencia in order to provide competition to Jose Enrique for the left-back role.

However, the 26-year-old's appearances for the club have been limited to just five, with an injury hampering his chances to impress. With the Reds keen on signing a new left-back next summer, Cissokho is hopeful that he can play his way to an extended spell with the Merseyside club.

“It’s a great source of pride for me every day to be able to play with players like this and to represent a big club like Liverpool,” Cissokho said.

“It’s a source of pride for all the coaches I had as a youth player. Of course, I am very happy to be here and I hope to stay here.”

“The season is long, and there are a lot of matches to come. The coach makes, and will continue to make, his decisions, and it’s important to respect them so that the team can be in the best shape each Saturday.”
