Fabricio Coloccini eyes Newcastle exit and Argentina return

23 November 2013 - 07:13

Newcastle captain Fabricio Coloccini is hoping that the club will allow him to return to Argentina in the January transfer window. The defender requested a transfer last year but the club decided to keep the player.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Coloccini remains hopeful that he can still leave St. James' Park as soon as the transfer window opens.

"We did everything possible to return to Argentina, but obviously Newcastle have the final say," said the Argentine.

"They are the club that invested in me and you have to respect that.

"The truth is I don't want to get my hopes up. Hopefully it will be as soon as possible."
