Youssouf Mulumbu denies imminent Arsenal move

04 December 2013 - 14:31

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu will not be making a transfer away from the Baggies in January and denied comments attributed to him suggesting that he would soon make a move to Arsenal.

  • Confirmed Liverpool line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Fulham, Barcola & Munoz start
  • Confirmed Chelsea line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Hull City, Lavia & James start
  • The 26-year-old midfielder has been a massive success since arriving at the Hawthorns in 2009 and has been persistently linked with a transfer away from Steve Clarke's side.

However, despite rumours of a transfer to Arsenal, the player has ruled out a move to the Emirates and said comments linking him with a transfer to the Gunners are somewhat wide of the mark: "I admitted there has been interest in me from other clubs, but I didn’t speak about Arsenal."

Mulumbu has a further 18 months on his contract at WBA and manager Steve Clarke is hoping to side down with the defensive midfielder and discuss a new contract shortly.
