Premier League clubs West Ham United and Cardiff City are reportedly set to battle it out for the signing of Espanyol starlet Alex Fernandez on a temporary basis during the winter transfer window.
The La Liga outfit are apparently willing to let the talented youngster leave the club on loan, in order to get some first-team football experience, but are demanding a £500k fee from the player's suitors, as per The Mirror.<br />
21-year-old Alex Fernandez, who hails from the famous La Fábrica youth academy, has represented Spain at all youth levels , and was named the player of the tournament in the 2011 Under-19's European Championship.
